Classes and Learning

The Ethical Life

From political and financial scandals to rapid progress in biomedical science and technology, the complex issues of modern society are, at their core, issues of ethical and moral concern.  Learn about Judaism’s long history of wrestling with moral questions, and responding to them in a way that considers all sides of an issue.

History of Jewish Music

This will be a special four-session course focusing on the history of Jewish music. More details to be announced soon.

Come explore and delight in the Book of Psalms.  Found in the first section of Ketuvim (Writings), Psalms has been a source of comfort and reflection to Jews for thousands of years.  Join other adult learners as we delve into the meaning, poetry and history of these beautiful and lyrical poems.  Enjoy delicious food & lively discussions at our Lunch and Learn program.  Come when you are available (no commitment to all sessions is required).

This ten-session course for adults is an introduction to Hebrew reading and writing. No current Hebrew skills required.

Bring your friends for a monthly discussion on Jewish books led by Ileen Bruns. We read fiction and non-fiction books on a variety of topics. Pizza and wine are served at each meeting.

Join us for friendly competition and fun at our Mahj Meetup. All skill levels are welcome. Joan Sitver and her Mahj Experts are on hand to guide the beginners. Bring your 2017 Mah Jongg League Card and a set if you have one.

Meets: 1st and 3rd Wednesdays (all year), 1:00pm – 3:30pm

Movie buffs are invited to join our Movie Matinee Club. Current releases chosen by the group will be shown. Snacks will be available.
