USY and Kadima Youth Groups

USY and Kadima Youth Groups provide our students with the opportunities to learn, pray, and socialize with other Jewish students. Informal learning and socializing is as important as formal structured classroom time. Our youth are encouraged to create a synagogue-based community of their own outside the classroom which is facilitated by our youth group activities. Our USY and Kadima Youth Groups follow the guidelines set forth by the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.

Kadima is the international youth organization for Jewish pre-teens. Our Kadima meets monthly for fun activities including holiday-themed lounges, pizza parties, bowling, jump park trips, and more.

USY is Conservative Judaism’s premiere youth group, run by its parent organization, the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. For more than 60 years USY has taught young Jews the values and skills they need to become exceptional leaders in their religious and secular communities. USY’s focus on leadership, social action, and relationship building has produced successful alumni with a deep sense of pride in and love for their Jewish identity.

Our USY group holds a weekly USY Youth Lounge on Wednesdays from 6:30pm – 8:30pm on weeks when Talmud Torah is in session. Monthly events are held with our Kadima group, and many other fun events are planned throughout the year.

Café Kehillah

cafe kehillah

USY raises funds for our group by holding Café Kehillah a few times a year. Café Kehillah is a community café run by our own USY members that includes coffee, breakfast delicacies, and seasonal favorites. Talmud Torah parents and our general congregational membership attend to support our USY chapter.

Far West USY

Back Home

Beth El’s USY & Kadima Youth Groups are part of the Far West USY Regional Chapter. The Far West Region hosts activities every 4-6 weeks for youth around the region. Retreats (Kinnusim), Shabbatonim, and dances rule the regional calendar. Our region is made up of Southern California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, and Hawaii. What a great opportunity to make and visit friends from all over the southwest!
