Your Legacy Can Perpetuate Judaism in the Phoenix Area

Beth El provides a Jewish home for a diverse congregation of Masorti (Conservative) Jews in central Phoenix. It
provides education for children and adults, opportunities for congregants to socialize, ways to perform Tikkun Olam,
and experiences for traditional and alternative prayer, as well as the only egalitarian daily minyan in Phoenix. In
addition, when there are applicants, Beth El provides in-depth study, curriculum, and guidance for those wishing to
convert to Judaism and become part of the Jewish people.

“I like Hebrew School because you don’t just learn about being Jewish; you make friends who understand you and get to celebrate the holidays together!”

Hebrew school is necessary for raising thoughtful, caring Jewish children, who are encouraged to ask those ultimate
questions, learn their history and what it means to be Jewish, and be proud of their traditions and heritage. Beth El
encourages them to ask the ultimate questions that help them place themselves in the world and become thoughtful,
caring Jewish adults. Beth El’s activities for children and families creates a safe and happy place to make friends, learn,
and grow. Did you know that our young teens lead the Wednesday afternoon prayer service, and older teens plan and
lead the Dorot family services? Beth El helps create the Jewish leaders of the future.

“There are so many opportunities to learn here — Torah study on the Sabbath, Talmud on Thursdays, Lunch and Learn and Chai Tea,
as well as Book Club, and special events with community partners.”

We hear a lot about life-long learning, but for us, it’s a mitzvah. Beth El provides adults with the opportunities to
continually grow in understanding. In addition to being beneficial for the adults, it’s good for children to see adults
involved in learning — because learning should never stop, and Beth El encourages and provides ample opportunity to
continue your educational journey.

“I saw the need to help with displaced Ukrainians and thought Beth El would be a good place to start. I got ogether a few friends, and we developed a plan to provide support for several Ukrainian families in
cooperation with other shul groups. Beth El stepped up and supported our efforts!”

Food for pantries, food and water for the homeless, Thanksgiving meals for the family emergency shelters and
newcomer schools, handmade blankets for children in crisis, school supplies for kids—these are just a few of the
Tikkun Olam projects facilitated by Beth El to help those less fortunate. There will always be those less fortunate. You
can ensure there will always be a Beth El to help them.

“My Chavura is so important to me. I only knew one person in the group when it was formed, but now I have ten new friends. We do fun things together and also worship and learn together. Since I live alone, this has been a lifeline for me.”

The above are just a few of the things going on at Beth El to foster and live Jewish ideals while increasing our presence
in Phoenix. If these experiences are important to you, and if you want them to continue for your children,
grandchildren, and their children, please consider joining Beth El’s L’Dor V’Dor Society to ensure Jewish culture,
beliefs, and practices continue right here. Your legacy gift can ensure a bright future for Beth El and future generations
of Jews in Phoenix.

How?

It’s easy to make a lasting legacy gift to Beth El.

Bequest: You can leave money, stocks, valuable objects. It may be in the form of a specific dollar amount, a percentage
of your estate, the remainder of your estate after all other bequests, or a specific item. If you already have a will or trust,
your lawyer can help you add a simple codicil or amendment, so you don’t need to rewrite the entire document.

Insurance: Make Beth El a beneficiary of your life insurance—in a specific amount, percentage, or remainder.

Retirement Plan, Pension, 401(k): As with insurance, you can leave a specific amount, percentage, or remainder after your death.

You can also make non-cash gifts right now.

Insurance: Give a current policy now (either one you create or one you no longer need), making Beth El the policy owner. Instead of making payments to the insurance company, you make tax-deductible payments to Beth El, and we pay the premiums.

Stocks, Bonds, Real Estate, and personal items: Anything of value can be given either through a bequest or outright.
