Dear Friends,
As we proudly celebrate Beth El Congregation’s 95th Anniversary, we are eagerly preparing for our High Holy Days and the arrival of 5786. Rabbi Stein-Kokin and Cantor Sarah Bollt will be enhancing our worship by engaging us in prayer, leading us in spiritual melodies, and bringing us together.
This year, our focus is not only on our spiritual renewal but on the physical renewal and renovation of our sacred home, Beth El. We take much pride in being one of the original synagogues in Phoenix. Multiple generations of people from near and far think of us as home. This year, we are embarking on several necessary projects to preserve and enhance this physical home. Already this summer, we have completed a crucial and costly repair to our air conditioning system. We also added shatter-proof coating to the glass on our building and the preschool building, and we are working on updating our lobby design as well. And, a sofer repaired and evaluated all of our Torah scrolls! Progress has been made, but more needs to happen.
As we approach the renewal and forgiveness of the Days of Awe, we ask you to please contribute to our annual High Holiday Appeal. Your contribution will help us sustain and grow as a family, continue to build deep personal connections, and ensure that Beth El is a center for Jewish learning, prayer, and service. I thank you in advance for your support of our future. Because of your generosity, together, we will continue to grow, thrive, and shine as a strong Jewish community in Phoenix.
I wish you a healthy and sweet New Year. L’shanah Tovah Tikatevu V’teichateimu!
Bill Tuttle, President
